| Smuts steht auf der Liste der Geisterstädte von Saskatchewan. Ein paar Häuser scheinen noch bewohnt zu sein, aber die meisten Gebäude sind dabei, in sich zusammen zu fallen. Die beiden griechisch-orthodoxen Kirchen sind jedoch gepflegt und sehr gut erhalten. -------------- Smuts is on the list of ghost towns of Saskatchewan. A few houses appear to be still occupied but for the most part the dwellings are boarded up and /or falling apart. Both Greek-Orthodox churches on the other hand are well taken care of and in fine shape. |
| Die Kirchen in Alvena sind in ziemlich schlechtem Zustand. Der Ort selbst scheint am aussterben zu sein. 2001 betrug die Einwohnerzahl noch 86, 2006 waren es nur noch 55. -------- The churches in Alvena are in pretty bad shape. The town appears to be heading for ghost town status. Between 2001 and 2006 the population decreased from 86 to 55. |
